He's... fine. I said it!

Look, I get it. He’s got the whole stoic hero thing going on. But is he the MOST compelling character ever? I’m not so sure.

Maybe it's just me. Maybe I like my protagonists a little less... mopey.

He's strong, sure. Dangerously strong. We all know that, and maybe that is his charm.

The Tower Climb: A Metaphor For... Something?

All that climbing! It's a very big part of the story.

Okay, the tower climb symbolizes something profound and deep. We get it.

But does it have to be *so* much climbing? My thumbs hurt just thinking about it.

"Just one more floor," said no one, ever. Unless they were talking about Jaehwan.

Honestly, sometimes I wanted to shout at him through the pages. "Take a break, dude! Get a pizza! Anything!"

It just felt relentless sometimes. The dude needs a vacation.

His Powers? Overrated? (Gasp!)

Hear me out. He's powerful, absolutely. Ridiculously, game-breakingly powerful.

But does it make him interesting? Sometimes, it feels like his power solves everything *too* easily.

Where's the struggle, the grit, the nail-biting moments when you think he's actually going to lose?

I need a little more underdog in my overpowered protagonists, is all I'm saying.

The Side Characters Steal The Show

Let's be real. Some of the side characters are way more interesting than Jaehwan.

The wacky mentors, the quirky allies, the surprisingly competent villains. They have the color!

They have the personality! They have the charm!

While Jaehwan is busy brooding, they're actually doing stuff. And being entertaining while they do it.

Maybe the story would be better from one of their points of view? Just a thought.

He's Got Potential, Though...

Don't get me wrong. I don't *hate* Jaehwan.

He has his moments. Those rare smiles? Precious.

And his dedication is... admirable, in a slightly terrifying way.

I just think he could use a little more... seasoning. A dash of humor, a pinch of vulnerability, a sprinkle of self-awareness.
