Yes I'm Vegan Yes I Eat Meat We Exist

Okay, let’s get something straight. I’m… complicated. You might even say contradictory.

Here's the thing: I'm vegan. Mostly.

But also? I eat meat. Sometimes. Yes, I'm one of those people.

The Great Food Identity Crisis

We need a new label! Something that doesn't involve someone yelling "hypocrite!" across the dinner table. It gets old.

Maybe "Flexi-gan"? Or "Conscious Omnivore"? "Accidental Vegan Who Really Likes Burgers"? I'm open to suggestions.

Seriously, though, food labels are so stressful. Can’t we just enjoy our meals?

My (weird) Food Philosophy

Let me try to explain my crazy brain. I love animals. Like, *really* love them. That's why I'm vegan at home.

My kitchen is a sanctuary of tofu and tempeh. No animal products allowed!

But sometimes, out in the wild (a.k.a., at a restaurant or grandma's house), a juicy burger calls my name. And sometimes, I answer.

Is it perfect? Nope. Is it consistent? Definitely not. Is it *me*? Absolutely.

I try to make conscious choices. I opt for the veggie burger 90% of the time. I look for ethically sourced meat when I do indulge.

I aim for progress, not perfection. Maybe someday I'll be a full-time vegan. Maybe not. Who knows?

The Socially Awkward Vegan-ish

Navigating social situations is a minefield. "Oh, you're vegan? Want some cheese?" Uh... no, thanks. (Except maybe a tiny nibble... don't judge me!).

Or explaining to my vegan friends that, yes, I did have a chicken wing last night. Cue the disappointed sighs.

It's a tightrope walk, people. A delicious, ethically questionable tightrope walk.

I've learned to laugh it off. To shrug and say, "I'm a work in progress!" And then quickly change the subject to puppies or something equally adorable.

Finding My Tribe (Or Lack Thereof)

Finding other people who understand this weird way of eating is tough. Are we a secret society? Do we have a secret handshake?

Maybe we should start a support group. "Vegan-ish Anonymous." We could share our struggles and our favorite tofu recipes. And maybe a burger or two.

But seriously, I think there are more of us out there than we realize. People who are trying to do better. People who love animals but also love bacon. It’s okay!

Maybe you're one of us! A closet omnivore with a heart of tofu. Don’t be ashamed!

The Future is Flexible

The point is, we’re all just trying to figure it out. Trying to be healthy. Trying to be kind to the planet. Trying to enjoy our food.

Maybe the future of food isn't about rigid labels. Maybe it's about flexibility and conscious choices.

Maybe it's about embracing the "Yes, I'm vegan. Yes, I eat meat. Get over it!" attitude. Okay, maybe not *that* aggressively. But you get the idea.

So, the next time you see someone ordering a veggie burger and then sneaking a bite of their friend's steak, don't judge. Just smile. They might be one of us.

And remember: It's okay to be a little bit complicated. Especially when it comes to food.
